Domain names can be purchased from domain registration companies such as www.123-reg.co.uk for as little as £2.99 a year. You will need to decide on the TLD as this will impact on your business.

A top-level domain ( TLD ), sometimes referred to as a top-level domain name ( TLDN ), is the last part of an Internet domain name e.g .com, .co.uk , .org etc.

Dot org is usually for non-profit organisations and charities, dot com for commercial sites and companies while the dot co.uk is for UK based businesses or organisations.

If you can afford it, get the variation you want as well as the .com. Why? The reason is that you wouldn't want someone else buying the dot com version of your .org and stealing all your traffic.

It is usually best to get a dot com as well as the most appropriate TLD.
